Investment Management Association Shakes-Up Board

The UK Investment Management Association has made four new appointments to its board at its Annual General Meeting. The new additions are: Hugh Mullan, UK managing director at Fidelity Worldwide Investment; Mark Zinkula, chief executive of Legal & General Investment Management; Andrew Formica, CEO of Henderson Global Investors and Andrew Laing, deputy CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management. Mullan previously worked at Citibank, Schroders and Barclays Wealth Management before joining Fidelity in 2008. Zinkula was appointed CEO of Legal & General Investment Management last year after having headed its operations in America since 2009. He was formerly global head of fixed income at Aegon Asset Management. Formica, who also serves as an executive director of the Henderson Group, has been in the fund management industry since 1993, starting out as an equity manager and analyst. Laing joined Aberdeen Asset Management in 1986 with responsibility for private equity investment. He became deputy CEO of the firm in 2008, and is also a director of a several of the group’s subsidiaries. Three members of the board stepped down at the AGM of the IMA: Helena Morrissey, CEO of Newton Asset Management; Alain Dromer, the former CEO of Aviva Investors; and Bill Smith, CEO of Lazard Asset Management.
